1. Introduction

That Marketing Club ("we," "our," or "us") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our services, or interact with us. By accessing our services, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect different types of information to provide and improve our services, including:

(a) Personal Information

When you register for That Marketing Club, we may collect personal information such as:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Payment details (processed securely via third-party payment providers)

  • Business information (optional)

  • Any other details you provide voluntarily (e.g., responses in surveys, comments in community discussions)

(b) Non-Personal Information

We may automatically collect non-personal data, including:

  • IP address

  • Browser type and version

  • Device information

  • Website usage statistics (e.g., page views, time spent on pages)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and manage your membership

  • Improve our services and user experience

  • Send important updates and marketing communications (you can opt-out anytime)

  • Process payments securely

  • Comply with legal obligations

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data. However, we may share your information with:

  • Service Providers: Third-party platforms that assist in managing our website, payment processing, and email marketing.

  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or in response to valid legal processes.

5. AI and automated processing

The Margo App uses third-party AI services (currently OpenAI) to plan and write your content. When you submit a brand guide, a check-in answer, an idea, or any other content to the app, that text is sent to OpenAI's API so the AI team can generate your content plan, hooks, captions and emails.

OpenAI processes your input solely to produce the response you requested. Under their API terms, your inputs and the model's outputs are not used to train their models, and they are retained for a maximum of 30 days for abuse monitoring before being deleted.

The app is not autonomous — every piece of content goes back to you for review, edit and approval before anything else happens with it. We don't post on your behalf. We don't sell or share your inputs with anyone other than the processors named below.

6. Who processes your data

Your data sits inside four trusted third-party services, each with their own security and privacy standards:

  • Supabase (supabase.com/privacy) — secure database hosting. Stores your account, your brand guide, your check-ins and your content plan. Hosted in Sydney, Australia.

  • OpenAI (openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies) — processes the text of your brand guide, check-ins and content prompts to generate your plan, hooks, captions and emails. Does not train on your data. 30-day max retention.

  • Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) — payment processing for your That Marketing Club membership. Card details never touch our systems.

  • Resend (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy) — sends transactional emails (your magic-link sign-in and account notifications).

Each processor receives only the minimum data they need to do their job, and we have a current data-processing agreement in place with each.

7. How long we keep your data

While you're a That Marketing Club member, your brand guide, check-ins and content history are stored in the Margo App so the AI team can do its job. The app keeps your content history for as long as your membership is active.

If you cancel your membership, the Margo App retains your data for 90 days in case you re-join — that way you don't lose your brand guide and history if you come back. After 90 days, your account and its associated data are permanently deleted from Supabase, the app's database. OpenAI's 30-day API retention runs in parallel and is deleted by them on their own schedule.

If you want your data deleted immediately, email [email protected] and we'll process it within 7 business days.

8. What we send to AI, and what we don't

We send to OpenAI: the text of your brand guide, your check-in answers, the platforms and formats you've chosen, and your prior approved content (so the AI can sound like you and double down on what's working).

We do not send: your password (we don't store passwords — login is via one-tap magic link), your payment details (those live with Stripe only), your email address other than to associate output with your account, or any data about other members.

When you chat with a bot inside the app, that conversation is sent to OpenAI to generate the response, and is stored in your account so you can revisit it. You can delete any conversation from your account settings.

9. Governing law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. By using the app, you agree that any disputes will be handled in the courts of New South Wales, Australia.

10. Connected accounts (when you opt in)

Over time, the app will let you connect external accounts — starting with Instagram — so the AI team can read what's actually working on your channels and plan smarter from there.

When you choose to connect Instagram, we ask Meta for permission to read your post performance (reach, saves, comments, replies) on your behalf. We store only the access token and the performance numbers — never your follower list, your DMs, or anyone else's data. You can disconnect any time in your account settings, and we'll delete the token and the cached performance data within 24 hours.

Other integrations (TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, Email) may be added later on the same opt-in basis. We'll only connect what you explicitly authorise, and you can disconnect any of them at any time.

11. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data. However, no online transmission is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience. You can adjust your browser settings to decline cookies, but this may affect functionality.
